Rules, Regulations and prize info that may be of some interest to you! Prizes Awarde SCARECROW CONTEST No Entry Fees!
Artique and The Mall at Lexington Green invite you to use your imagination and anything you can find to create a scarecrow for one of the following categories:
1. Young People’s Group - School classes and organizations are encouraged to come up with the most
spectacular scarecrow. (ages 12 and under) The more outrageous, the better!
2. Young Individuals (12 Years and Younger) - There are no limitations here! The more creative, the more votes you get.
3. Traditional - Create a traditional scarecrow using materials that have been used on functional scarecrows in fields and gardens, but do be creative, humorous, or scary!
4. Contemporary - Construct an unusual piece (piece is the key word, not necessarily a scarecrow)
appropriately created to give an awesome, humorous, or scary effect in the garden. Imagination with a dash of cleverness is the recipe for a winner.
5. Mall Merchants - The Stores at Lexington Green Mall merchants are encouraged to create “store-related” scarecrows as well. This category is just for Lexington Green Mall Merchants.

All entries must be received by Artique at The Mall at Lexington Green no later than on October 15, 2011. Prizes donated by: The Mall at Lexington Green, Artique Gallery, Whole Foods Market, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, Worlds Apart, Skin Solutions, Hilton, The Healthy Back Store, Regatta Seafood, Tony Roma’s, Willis Music, Lens Crafters, Heavenly Ham, Bronte Bistro, Leather, Inc., Champs, and more… All activities are free & open to the public.. Winners for all categories will be judged by public balloting & a selection committee. Voting will begin. October 1st and end on October 27th. Winners of the contest will be awarded “Scarecrow Day”, Saturday, October 29, 2011. This will also be our Candy Hunt Day for all children to go Trick or Treating through the stores at Lexington Green Mall
The Mall at Lexington Green reserves the right to refuse any scarecrow entry that we feel may be offensive to the general public and to photograph entries for any promotional purpose. Photographs become the property of The Mall at Lexington Green.
OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. A short written description of your entry must accompany your Official Scarecrow Contest Entry Form.
2. Any size Scarecrow is acceptable, however you must provide your own stand. Limited number of electrical outlets available. Requests are first come first serve. Scarecrows should be free-standing (able to stand on their own) and
3. Artique and The Mall at Lexington Green are not responsible for scarecrows while on display. Scarecrows are the responsibility of the owner to check on them periodically to make sure they have not fallen apart or need prepping.
4. Your scarecrow must be brought to Artique at the Mall at Lexington Green now and no later than on October 15, 2011, in order to receive as many votes as possible during the voting period and for setting up during mall hours.
5. Judging of the scarecrows will be by public ballot and selection committee, October 1st through Wednesday, October 27, 2011. Judging forms will be available in all stores at The Mall at Lexington Green.
6. Voting ballots are not valid w/o name and address. No voting ballots will be accepted by mail. Judging is limited to one vote per category per person. Ballot boxes will be located in Artique Gallery.
7. After the contest, scarecrows must be picked up on the following Monday, October 31st. Any scarecrows which have not been claimed by then will become property of The Mall at Lexington Green.
8. MORE THAN ONE SCARECROW CAN BE ENTERED.
9. IMPORTANT: Your scarecrow MUST BE WEATHER-RESISTANT & STURDY in order to qualify for displaying and judging. Consider the wind and rain when choosing and securing materials to your
creation. We strongly encourage entrants to visit their scarecrows at Lexington Green Mall often for periodic check-ups. During the time your entry is on display, it is your responsibility to make any necessary
repairs. Lexington Green Mall reserves the right to remove any scarecrows that do not hold up to the weather.
Please write legibly. This is the card that everyone will be reading so you want to make sure they can read it so they can vote for your scarecrow.
Winners will be picked from public voting! So we encourage you to send all your friends and family out to The Mall at Lexington to vote. The voting ballots are in each store at Lexington Green and you may vote for one scarecrow in each category! So please do so! Also, you must fill out the voting ballot with all your complete information. This is to ensure that no one person is filling out multiples to "rig" the voting.
